Winston is Top-Selling Brand in North Carolina


Brand Finance  is the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy company which for several years has been examining and ranking Top 500 brands in the USA and other counties of the world. Its offices are located in New York.

Recently   Brand Finance  presented their valuation of this year. It should be said that its valuation is based on such factors as market share, consumer loyality anf awarness, spending on marketing and financial forecasts.

Brand Finance  wrote:
“Our sector-agnostic approach has allowed us to get a better sense of where a company’s brand value sits relative to state, country and global brands and competitors. Targeting aside, brands compete for share of mind, share of heart and ultimately, share of wallet.”

When the talk is about a particular stae, in order to be included into the state ranking, the participant company or its operating subsidiaries should be based in the particular state. All Top 12 brands have almost $1 billion in value and rank in the Top 500 brands across the USA.

Bank of America is second most important inancial institution in the country. Its brand value in North Carolina is $25.7 billion. Third key brand in the state is Winston with a value of $3.13 billion. Winston occupies 193th rank nationally.

The brand is manufactured by  R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.  since 1950s. Significant value of Winston comes from Japan Tobacco International which owns the rights to make it. Today Winston is number two in the list of best-selling cigarette brands worldwide.

The value of Winston is 60% higher than of Camel that occupies the 8th place in North Carolina with $1.96 billion. Camel was best-selling cigarettes brand by Reynolds for years.

Other top cigarette brands in North Carolina are Newport and Kent.
