Lady Gaga Admits Smoking Pot When Writing Music
But she adds, “I don’t want to encourage kids to do drugs.”
In a candid interview on 60 Minutes Sunday, Lady Gaga – who turned heads by arriving to the Grammys Sunday in a giant egg – admits she gets high when writing music.
“I still smoke a lot of pot when I write music,” she told Anderson Cooper. “So I’m not gonna, like, sugar coat it for 60 Minutes that I’m some, like, sober human being, ’cause I’m not.” She quickly added, “I don’t want to encourage kids to do drugs.” In the interview, she also revealed that she used to do a lot of cocaine but has stopped.
She said she wants to come clean about her drug use so she has an honest relationship with her fans. “When you asked me about the sociology of fame and what artists do wrong -what artists do wrong is they lie,” said Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta).
“And I don’t lie. I’m not a liar. I built good will with my fans. They know who I am. And I’m just like them in so many ways.”
